*I’m not a self proclaimed coffee magnate but I do hold many a qualification in the field of roast Criticism* For real though this place has an assortment of blends to choose from and the coffee (long black) I had was fantastic. Single origin from Ecuador. I always enjoy when the drink is accompanied with the fact sheet and fizzy water. Slight pretentious vibe but everyone was friendly and the ascetics of the place are very pleasant. Worthy of a top spot in Wellington.
Flight Coffee is the most consistent and versatile speciality roaster in Wellington, if not New Zealand. Their flagship cafe does their brand justice. They have 2-3 single origins on for espresso and batch brew at any given time and do flights as well. Their hand drip isn't quite as dialed in as the other stuff, since it's not really a thing in Wellington like it is in other countries. Wellington is definitely a city of commodity, milk based coffee culture, but you can have some spectacular black coffee at then Hangar. Staff is friendly, but avoid brunch - lunch if you can, if you're just in it for the coffee as it can get super packed.
