A little hidden treasure on our roadtrip towards Great Ocean Road, coming from Melbs. Delicious food and excellent coffee. They roast in there, too! Thumbs up!

This cafe is now called GINGER MONKEY after changing hands less than a week ago! And -early days - the new management is clearly struggling in the coffee department, offering no single origin option and making me an undrinkably bitter long black from their blend. Added some sugar to enable consumption with fruit toast. I guess someone will change the name on Beanhunter or add the new cafe?

Coffee was ok, had a pretty burnt aftertaste and wasn't super smooth. Probably better for a milky coffee. Staff need to relax and be more friendly as per other reviewers. Will be better once they find their feet I hope.

The service here is abysmal. I visited when it was very quiet, but it still took almost half an hour to get two coffees (which were made incorrectly). The barista was incredibly aggressive and argumentative. It was a genuinely scary experience. When I got the coffee I ordered, it was fine, but I would never go back, nor recommend others visit because the barista was so volatile. The irony was, he was standing under a sign espousing the virtues of being kind to others?! Look up man, look up.

This place is bringing coffee closer to wine in regards to complex nose and taste. I tried the single origin Sumatran bean, which was very fruity and full bodied. 9/10 for the coffee. My partner ordered the medium bodied blend, which was like eating some fine dark chocolate. Alsotop notch. Temperature was perfect at about 60 degrees with excellent coffee art. Highly recommend!

Good vegetarian and vegan options but don't expect a smile or banter with staff. Enjoyed my meal outside surrounded by dirty dishes and magpies. Hope they can make some improvements as this place does have strong potential.

Great looking place.. Awesome fit out and cool coffee bar with the 2 la marzoccos side by side. However as we walked in the welcoming was quite dry. We only knew that we had to order and pay at the bar from the previous reviews. Nevertheless that didn't stop us from trying it out. The menu is a perfect size with not too many options but the vibe from the floor staff kinda made us feel like there was no room for adjustments. The coffee looked impressive however I found their blend to be quite acidic, a little too much for my liking, however coffee is personal and everyone has their own taste. In this case, not mine. The only let down in the coffee side of things was that my wife's mug came out dirty with a lipstick rim and coffee stains on the side. We had it replaced with another mug that had coffee stains down the side. Nothing to complain about but a little pride in presentation would be good. All in all, the place is nice, the concept is good.. I love the exposed roaster.
