i was wondering how Purple moose can have 9 out of 10 when i know its not worh it 9. I looked at all reviews and i understand now. They take advantage of the past. If you look carefully you see all reviews are quite old. Not many reviews recently and i know why. Because they stingy now and try to make more profit by using less beans for each coffee. I used to come here in the past and coffee was a top. Nice, full of flavour and strength. I was actually pleasantly suprised when i tried it first time. I didnt expect that. So i started coming here with a bonus it is not far from my home. I used to go to Marrickville alchemy cafe, which was a top and still is. So i was so happy i found similar closer to my home. Untill one day, about an year ago i suddenly experienced ig change. I was wondering and asked barista what happened? Did you change beans or something? Why? Because coffee is different. Unfortunately it went bad way. I said its very weak so i couldn't enjoy the flavour of coffee. It was all milky. He said to me that they cut half amout of beans for each coffe because people like more weak milky coffee and thats why they cut a shot in half. He kindly made me another one to make me happy but it actually had opposite effect because coffe was still milky and weak. Something really went wrong here. I left with feeling never come back but after a couple of months i gave them another chance. What a disappointment. Still same weak milky coffee. I never returned since than. This world is just about the money, profit, business. What a sad thing. ....
Yes, brilliant coffee served by a nice guy, passionate about the bean and friendly. I hope he does well. Cronuts and some excellent croissants. Located next to a news agency. Yes would def visit again if driving on this side of the street; limited parking at the door.
Fantastic coffee, they had a really well roasted ethiopian origin and a well balanced blend (if i recall- this is a little late!) The milk was perfectly creamed and I especially liked the passion yet down-to-earthness of the guy who served me. We had a nice technical coffee industry conversation about the kees van der westen that I saw in passing on a bus in the window and made it my business to get back to. He knew his stuff. The roaster did too. It was unpretentious and welcoming. The only reason it's not a 10/10 is because I didn't have enough time to go back again so I can't be totally sure of it's consistant perfection. WILL RETURN SOON :)
