This place is the best for coffee in Mortdale. I'm a regular visitor for coffee & breakfast & the quality is very consistent. Dani isn't afraid to search for better coffee blends which is why I think their coffee keeps getting better. I will rotate between long blacks and lattes, which are always spot on.
Guys, this cafe used to be good not anymore. Coffee is terrible and they don't have proper Barista to make coffees, I have noticed the lady owner makes the coffee and on the top of that service is really bad. I reckon, most of the cafe are good only at the beginning.
Went in this afternoon with a couple of discerning friends. We all tried an espresso in the Colombian single origin which itself was from Single Origin Roasters made by the owner, we all agreed its was smooth with low acidity and a creamy mouth feel with obvious chocolate tones at the back end. I then asked for a piccolo. This was made by the owner's brand new barista who was quick to bring it while giving me a warm welcome. The piccolo was on their Crompton Road blend from 5 Senses and was on the cooler side which I prefer, cute little rosetta on the top and stong hazelnut flavour dominating my palate, it was like drinking a smooth nutella coffee. Must admit the shop was quiet when we came in which gave me time to soak in the vibe. Love the panther mural on the wall.
Im a regular to SBP however won't be returning any longer thanks to the new barista. My low score is reflected by the service I received not the flavour of the coffee. Never have I met a barista with so much ego and arrogance. Apart from hounding me with inappropriate questions about "what they call me" and what I do for a job, he would not stop talking the whole transaction about how good he is at his job, to the point where I had to switch off and ignore him. Then I was practically forced to sip my takeaway in front of him before I left to reassure him it was, in his words, "amazing"... Enjoy responsibly he said? What does that mean? I Walked out baffled ... Never to return.....
