Definitely not a fan of this café. The service was appalling, and the coffee was WAY too strong. Virtually undrinkable.

Coffee taken right to the edge! Seems to be well known for really, really robust coffee. In a City saturated with cafes, and in a suburb with cafes every 20m, its great to have a point of difference like Satellite. Coffee teetering on the brink of being too far done, but thankfully staying just the right side of robust, and as Wombat says refraining from stepping into over bitter. To be honest, I don't think I could drink their coffee on a daily basis; but its great for an occasional visit, when hungover, or if you have a hectic day planned. Service was friendly and for me the perfect balance of being genuine and non intrusive.

wow, I'm impressed. coffee strong, smooth without that burnt bitterness you can get sometimes with a strong coffee. Cool setting, great funky staff, couldn't do enough, very engaging. loved the breakfast dishes as well. definitely top in newton.

I was greeted as soon as I walked in. Service was friendly and with a smile. I placed more order, found a seat and was quickly brought a glass and a bottle of (cold) water. My Little Marionnette flat white soon followed. I was told later they don't use a blend but were using a Honduras single origin. Maybe that's why it didn't quite taste like I was expecting. Still nice though. I noticed that they use Bonsoy (for those that care). The decor is very quirky.
