Loyalty to your LCS (local coffee shop) is more about the experience than the price. Quality is obviously paramount but given that an LCS is your place away from home, the kids or work, the experience must create value in its own right. If seeing people start to smile even before they enter a venue, then Peaberry Espresso ticks all the boxes. The ever-present barista/owner mans the machine at the front and greets all by first name which opens the door to familiar and fun banter. The menu is surprisingly large and great for a small venue. There is seating for about 20. Sandwiches and hot food dominate with plenty of choices available. You can tell the owner takes pride in the offering by introducing new specials every week whether it is a breakfast special, a sandwich of the week or a new juice. Peaberry's loyalty card scheme app, Wealie, let's you see the specials even before you leave home or work. From a family of coffee drinkers with ridiculously discerning tastes (known to have red carded countless venues around Sydney over 2 bad coffees [not-necessarily consecutive]), Peaberry has remained one of the few consistent cornerstones. One of the highlights of Darlinghurst.
