I had a soy latte and it was very smooth, strong but not bitter. I'm a sweet tooth so when I don't need sugar in my coffee it is a very good sign. This one didn't! The atmosphere is stunning right in the middle of the Queen Victoria Building. But the morning I went it was a bit cold.
You can be forgiven for mistaking this cafe as a bit of a tourist trap, located on the ground floor next to the Western entrance of the QVB. Kikko is perfectly placed enroute from Town Hall station to my office, and it's hard to not stop by on my through in the mornings. Milk based coffees are perfectly smooth and there's no sign of bitterness if you're more inclined to order a short black. They're serving Toby's Estate, with service that is prompt and friendly. Also they serve ricotta cheesecake from Papa Patisserie!
Tucked into the western side of the QVB, pretty charming little coffee bar offering table service and more importantly half decent coffee for Sunday in the city. Long black was rich, with the mineral qualities of the beans clearly present without bordering on bitter sharpness. Skim Latté was a little below warm, but still more than drinkable. Good for Sunday drinking!
