Disappointing coffee. Really wanted to like it because Waffle Co has closed down (now that was bloody good coffee, every time). But, no. Weak and bitter, sorry. I tried a half full FW - goodness knows how people drink the full milk version - and a piccolo (Like I said, really wanted this to work). Both were nowhere near strong enough - as other reviewers have said, somehow ‘light’ and completely underwhelming. Space is nice, service was friendly and food was good. Shame about the coffee. Where to now...?
Long black was tepid, thin crema and bitter. Asked for one sparkling water - was brought large bottle. The menu is all over the place; style over substance. I had toast with green pea, Parma ham, soft-boiled egg and pickled radish. The Toast was soggy and so loaded with pea puree that it was all I could taste. If I had wanted mushy peas I would have gone to Harry's Cafe De Wheels. Two pathetic slices of ham. The egg was nice. They didn't give me much pickled radish either, so basically all I got was egg and mushy peas on soggy bread. That was $18. $48 for two, for a very average brunch. Second time I have visited - I was there at the opening and was not impressed. Shame. They have the decor right. Now all they need is decent food. I won't be giving them any more of my money.
