Such a relief for an Aussie to find this place. Full body and good strength "latte" (looked like a large flat white to me). Cinnamon raisin toast with cinnamon and butter hit the mark too. Inevitably, the line is long and the team - despite having two machines running - could not seem to keep up. Would return.
This is a great JV between Josey Baker a bread-maker with a real last name Baker and Four Barrel Coffee of Mission District fame. This is a modern well lit version of Four Barrel that serves freshly made breads. So instead of seeing a roasting operation at the back with a Probat roaster in the background, we see and smell the freshness of bread-making. They have the great coffee of Four Barrel, with Barista's from Four Barrel working here. They have commercial toasters toasting some pretty darn good natural grain breads. I would highly recommend going to the Mill. It is easy to find, and the coffee is superb. One thing though! The lines are long like Four Barrel. So that should make any Four Barrel loyalist comfortable!
Look twice or you might miss this little tent pop-up inside a construction zone in an old grocery store building! Great Four Barrel coffee and espresso drinks served properly alongside Josey Baker bread toast with a rotation of toppings. The super friendly staff are happy to answer any questions you might have, and ask you should, as Josey makes the bead from the grain! (Thus the Mill name). The hours and selection will expand when the build-out is complete, in the meantime, enjoy this little secret behind the outhouse on Divisadero!
