The flavour of the coffees was good and our flat whites were creamy with the well shaped milk integrated into the shot. We had a nice serving of fruit toast which did not appear on the menu but was available when we asked. The ambiance is quite funky and there is a small pavement sitting area which we used. Service was fast and efficient despite a steady stream of customers.
Good coffee, great food and a pleasant atmosphere with interesting decor. The only problem with service is that you have to go up and down stairs every time you want to order another coffee. Perth cafes are obsessed with customers ordering at the counter, but in this case they really should take the orders at the tables.
I was excited about this cafe, given it's location and it's reputation for excellent coffee. However, while the coffee was good, nothing about it stood out to me: my coffee (decaf flat white extra hot) was, well, warm (not hot!) and on the slightly milkier side of a flat white. They messed up my order anyway so had to make another. And the seating outside was sorta cramped. I mean, don't get me wrong, it was a lovely location and the staff were friendly, the my comrades had tasty cakes, and it was an overall pleasant visit, but the coffee didn't sweep me off my feet.
