I walked past a few times and noticed it was always busy. reading other reviews I got the feeling it was a long wait but well worth it. Hmmm was happy to wait but the coffee presented was weak and had almost no flavour for a skim flat white. Tried again a week later and same result. The cost is far to high even if it was a cracking coffee which its not. My opinion is that the wait or cost isn't worth the end product.

very weak coffee, hardly any taste for a skim flat white. Cost is way too much for the quality of coffee. much better coffee in nearby cafes. just wonder why people are willing to wait so long.

Great smooth-finishing coffee, the ambience is lobby-chic but still chilled even in peak coffee time. Barista was friendly, muffin delicious, but the other staff were a little...offputting. I dont need a 'dude' with my morning grind.

Wanted to see what sort of coffee Castro was throwing down. Take away strong Flat White was very weak and watery. Barista needs to blink more.

Espresso dine in, lovely: ~9/10 Medium Mac 3/4 topped-up take-away was a large, weak, milky laté, not good: ~6/10. C'mon guys, concentrate! Otherwise my previous review still stands...

Coffee was good at Castros. Much much better than is was a long time ago (before my Beanhunter days) - I decided to give this place another go based on current reviews. The barrister's look a lot more experienced that previous ones, and they proved their worth, so they are definitely heading in the right direction. It's not the best in Perth, but good and recommended. Just a little over cooked to be perfect - but I guess like a lot of places in Perth, serving coffee a too hot has been driven my unknowing consumers rather than trying to obtain the perfect taste. A nice place, comfortable (though I picked an extremely wobbly table), friendly, I'd certainly come back here - but as it's located over the Terrace from an even better cup that's also cheaper, it won't be regularly.
