Service was great, lovely little coffee shop and great idea. However the coffee wasn't great at all, as someone that has spent a lot of time in Australia drinking coffee and in England i was very disappointed. Atmosphere was okay, would be better if there was some background music.
Don't know what all the hype is about. Large selection of beans, excellent service, but a lack of cow's breast milk ('normal' milk) alternatives, and over extracted bitter coffee. For any British/Australian etc reading this I recommend just going to Starbucks and getting a Ristretto Bianco if you want drinkable coffee :p oh and not to mention this place is very expensive and for no good reason! €5 for a flat white style coffee (£3.80 or AU$7.75). I know it's Paris but this is over the top! Starbucks is about €3.55 for a flat white, and I even got a discount for greeting the cashier and asking if they spoke English in French!
Telescope, next to our hotel, was closed so we trundled down the road to Verlet, given it's high scores. We ordered two take-away cappuccinos. Both were, to be honest, pretty terrible. Milk was overheated. Coffee was over extracted. For €5 a serve, sate your caffeine addiction elsewhere.
Seriously AMAZING. They have many different kinds of coffee available. They recommend an amazing Kenyan bean for a long black...AND THEN the barista/owner came to our table and brought cold brew of the same coffee to let us taste the difference. I will be coming back. And bringing back my erection.
I'd walked past many times and thought it was too busy to pop in so was relieved to see they have a large upper floor as well. Super coffee, timber decor, friendly staff, a knowledgeable barista. I couldn't want for anything more!! I'll be back. Merci beaucoup!
