The coffee here is quite OK. The service is friendly and accommodating. The food, while a tad overpriced, is good without being outstanding.

Lovely service - everyone was friendly and accommodating. Wait time was reasonable based on how many other customers there were. Food was pretty delicious. Good sized meals, definitely not too hard to finish, but you'll be full by the end. Coffee was nice. Not the best, but pleasant and complimented the food well. Happy with having had breakfast here today.

Beaumont street has some really great places for coffee. Usually if I'm at the train station end, I'll go to suspension - maybe Rolador. But if I'm up the other end near the bank it's a choice between Three Bean Espresso, Eurobar, Fortunate Son and uh....Gloria Jeans..... For me Fortunate is always a good choice. It's one of those bar and restaurant places that also do coffee, so it's not their main focus. The coffee is actually very pleasant and has a good strength to it. In the first couple of sips it does seem a bit "watery", and it's not the most silky smooth lattes around. But by the end up the cup I'm thinking "that wasn't bad". Definitely check this place out - they also do AMAZING food and have a unique and varied selection of single malt whisky and gins. Very fancy sort of atmosphere that backs on the a 4 star hotel. Always very friendly and helpful staff.

Fortunate Find on Beaumont St While you will never be short on choices looking for coffee on Beaumont St, every local will jump at the chance to tell you where the best cafe is, thier Beaumont St 'pick'. I've tried most of them myself, and each one has its strengths and weaknesses. But I have yet to try a nicer black coffee than those made at Fortunate Son. I arrived for breakfast, and not three feet through the door I was greeted by the friendly staff, which is such an underrated distinction from the very commercial feel of most cafes on Beaumont St. I ordered a long black on their single origin, a Columbian with notes of cherry and dried apricot. Within three minutes I had my coffee, and wow, it was fantastic! So good I couldn't leave without having a second. A must try for discerning coffee-lovers.

Service was quick and friendly! Coffee blend is very acidic and a little brass, but milk was good if not, a little too hot. The 5 star feel of the cafe is "appropriate dress code", a little intimidating, still a good cafe!

Terrible. A very long wait to be very disappointed. Lukewarm, bitter coffee, bizzare breakfast options, poor service and an uninviting decor.
