I’m usually an avid long black drinker but on the very rare occasion I get a soy latte, and yes, I am that guy who asks for it extra hot, knowing full well I run the risk of burning the milk & causing all kinds of havoc. But I must say, this soy latte was so hot to touch (the way I like it) with the most velvet silky sweet heavenly steamed milk. Decorated with a fine piece of latte art & served by two rad humans. Very very impressed with this little cup of heaven.
I rarely give ten out of tens but the coffee at this place is spectacular. Like 'wow' and a smile from the first sip spectacular. Hints of fruit and chocolate in whatever roast they are using. Really good stuff. This isn't my local but it would be if I lived near by.
Surprisingly, this place had one of the best coffees I've had in Newcastle. Perfect, silky froth. Strong and nutty. Service was a little slow... probably due more to the fact that it was quite busy. And in fairness, I'm talking like someone who has somewhere to be and people to meet. I definitely do not. Shame about the location though, down some side street off Hunter Street. With views of apartments and nothing else. (Apparently there's a courtyard out the back? ) Minus points for the "eftpos surcharge". Strangely, I don't like being charged to pay. Honestly, I can't quite figure this place out... But, considering impeccable cappuccino, I will be coming back for more... Take away, of course. After all, I have places to be and people to whatever or something.
