Pour over was excellent. Espresso was well extracted and had a real natural sweetness to the coffee. Overall very good but definitely not a place to go for the cafe vibes. Just excellent coffee. It seems that's what they've aimed for and they certainly are achieving that.

Excellent coffee, very consistent. Several brew methods available for tasting and for purchase at this training/supply shop/cafe. Don't expect to eat here, just get ready for a great cup of coffee!

You walk in the door and you realise that you've just walked into a new rising trend in coffee. It's not really a cafe. It's a training space. It's a coffee accoutrement supply store. It's somewhere to pick up a SCAA official cupping handbook. It somewhere to pick up one of a dozen different bags of beans and only a quarter often from Joe's Roastery (and yet were not even displayed at eye level). They'll also pull you some good shots. The coffees they had on the lever-pull espresso were both interesting without falling into the two usual camps of caramel/chocolate or citrus. Tasting notes were more pear fruits. I enjoyed it in a coffee geek kind of way. I walked away knowing a little bit new about a few different things (VST sizing, lever-pull pressure drops, cupping etc). But they're professionals here. They're not going to stroke your ego. There are no food options (BT a choc chip cookie). There's no seating I speak of. The decor is commercial wire shelving. There's a big training area out the back. So it is what it says it is. ... A Pro Shop. Great for working in your palette. Not great for finding breakfast.

Great little shop. Knowledgeable Barista and I got an immediate sense that I was going to get a good coffee. Wasn't disappointed. Great service and great coffee. Only downer, there's no space to chill out, it's pretty much takeaway only.

In Manhattan, one can go to the southern tip around Chelsea and get great coffee without having to take the tube over to Brooklyn. Joe Pro Shop is a little different from their other retail stores. Those are geared for the fast paced let me drink and swallow my shot ASAP. Joe Pro is located in a quiet street and is almost not obvious until you land right on top of it. It's there. So instead of the craziness of typical NY, you can talk coffee here. Their baristas know their coffee and the drinks are well done. Like most people say, the only negative is that it is very small, and there are not a lot of seats to hang out. But if you are a purist chasing coffee, that would not be a big deal. They have lots of coffee accessories so if you need coffee related supplies, this too is the place to go
