Best coffee in Doreen / Mernda region. Great location / view and service was quick and friendly. Very child friendly. Food was fine but nothing exceptional

Visited twice, coffee was not good, need to urgently replace the grinders bean blend! Food was ok but a little overpriced for the quality of food! Had a nice Museli and fruit compote the second time I went there! Did not order coffee second time round!!

This place is just lovely and the service is not only friendly and efficient but also very professional, without being at all overbearing. Food is generallly delicious, especially the desserts - however mains and some breakfast menu items can be pricey . Coffee is consistently good - whether it's take away or sit down. And the kids are treated well and have always been welcomed - plenty of room for running around outside. Service can be a bit slow when it's busy , and we've had to wait more than once for coffees to be made - but got to admit that happens at most establishments when they're busy - I see it as a sign that I'm not the only one who appreciates the coffee here .

We have had two bad experiences with this cafe. We first visited this cafe when it was first opened with my mothers group. Staff were unfriendly and were annoyed that we didn't make a booking. (we were the only patron from 12-4). The second time we didn't even make it. We called a day before and made a reservation for 8 mums and 8 bubs. The following day are numbers decreased to 6 so we called to let them know only to be told that no reservation was made. Then we were told that we could only sit outside in the cold. The owner later admitted that she didn't want mothers groups attending for fear that the kids would destroy the establishment and the childrens play area. She also said that they didn't want us because we would make noise and disturb there local customers. In the end we never went and made arrangements elsewhere. Note that their website openly invites mothers group and playgroups to visit the venue. False advertising I think. The food in general is over priced and not really targeted to meet the needs of the mernda area unless you have moved in from south yarra or the brighten areas. Service is appalling and staff have no professionalism about them.

Tried this place once for breakfast. Breakfast wasn't all that good and over priced for what it was. Coffee was ok but tasted better. Felt rushed to leave this place when we were there.

Tried this place the second time and it got worse instead of better. I thought I would give them another chance after a poor impression the first time. Nice set up, great for kids but service, food, drinks, bad, bad, worse. Wife ordered meat pie home cooked apparently, got chicken instead. complained and 15 minutes later got a microwaved version of a meat pie. Nice presentation but 2 mouthfuls of meat. Drinks we waited for latte, oj and iced coffee for 25 minutes before asking where they were. Waitress explained she forgot and apologised for the delay due to the muck up with pie. Mind you we waited 20 minutes to get the chicken pie first so where were the drinks? The chips were really salty, the iced coffee had no cream and tasted like really sweet syrup. Don't understand why we can't have real coffee with the iced coffee as they have a coffee machine but then my latte was no better. It lacked flavour, was really hot and I think it only had the two beans that they named themselves after. I know they are new and I hope they improve so I hope if I visit again I will be able to enjoy the food and drinks as much as my kids enjoyed the play area.
