The charm of Tuccibrown drew me in again today. Awesome setup with all the stationary and crafty tools that decorate the large open cafe. I was delighted to see the Guji in the hopper, and Rachel did her magic on the slayer, delivering a flawless short black with amazing blackberry notes. This is fast becoming a favourite spot for a consistent coffee by Padre. Service is always prompt, with a smile, and minus the ego.
Another excellent coffee from Rebekah at Tuccibrown! Super hot day and had their Mexican cold-drip on sparkling; it was the perfect, refreshing drink I was after with clean, bright notes without too much acid. Previously I've had lattes and espressos, none of which I could find fault with. Smooth extractions with punchy flavour and great microfoamed milk served at perfect drinking temp. Padre's beans are being put to excellent use here and the orange Slayers look awesome.
Lovely to see Tucci Brown in this area. The orange slayer and grinders are very striking. The open area is inviting, and not as cluttered as Brighton. The coffee works best as a black in my opinion. The Ethiopian single origin was a favourite, with its rich berry fruit notes. I tried the Colombian as a Flat White, which was far too milky and lacked body. The daddys girl blend was pretty ordinary, and again lacked the Full body that I prefer in my coffee.
