While the coffee is well made and always on point (this time I had a Kenyan from Wood and Co.), the sporadic service and wait on everything let's the place down. The last time I was in i had to leave my take away toastie behind after asking twice about it and waiting 25 minutes, simply because it was forgotten. I was not offered an apology or refund. This sort of experiences destroys a business Coffee 9 Atmosphere 9 Service 4
For the first time ever I nearly sent a meal back. Didn't want to create a scene but really hope that all that was wrong with my arancini was that they were served to me just defrosted. So disappointed that I dragged a friend to what is otherwise a vibrant looking cafe. Other than that, please don't give your guest smart comments before they are even seated, if you seat them and an internal door is letting the chill in it can't be too much to ask to simply apologise that the door must remain open and offer another table when there are plenty available. My friend's meal was ordinary. The saviour was the bowl of chips we ordered. If only the arancini were fried fresh along with those. so disappointed
They are now offering Padre beans for single origin coffee. Had the Indonesian as a long black, and it had a massive body, with some sweet notes, and earthy finish. The guy serving us was ever so friendly, and even stopped to have a chat about the beans.
I live in the area and decided to tick this place off my list. It was a long wait time but there were clearly tables available. Was either lazy or wanted to create a queue to make it seem busier. Finally made it in, food was very good but coffee was average. A bit washed out for my taste. Would probably suggest top paddock across the road
came in recently for breaky after the gym and was pleasantly suprised to discover the beautiful courtyard out the back. coffee is by a variety of roasters, the single for espresso being from 5 senses and the pourover by small batch. the ethiopian kochere as a doppio was pretty spot on, intense red berry sweetness with a risingly dry black tea finish. the chele'lektu pourover was a winner, intensely aromatic, notes of peach, white grape, jasmine, honey and lemon seeds. my nordic breaky board was delicious too! ill be back 👊
I just had to wait to be put on the waitlist when it could have easily be put on. It seemed like she was dragging it out to ensure people experience unnecessary wait times so the place looks busy. I'm happy to wait when it's clearly busy and they're doing everything they can to assist customers but this wasn't the case.
