Beanhunter rated this cafe a 9.7, so I had pretty high expectations. The coffee was fine, but far from exceptional. Plenty of better coffees in Melbourne, so I didn’t order a second. But the food was great. They may have had a bad coffee day though.

Magic on Ferrars is a great little cafe. The coffee is spot on every time and the staff are friendly...even when I ask for a decaf! Make sure to listen to the specials, they change regularly and are always both delicious and Instagram worthy.

Takes Coffee, Food and Service to Artistic levels. Blown away every time with the Latte's and enjoy the atmosphere. Five-Star All Round!

After my friend and I were going home after a party we decided to stop by this cafe and have a bite to eat. BEST DECISION EVER!!!!!! I had the matcha green tea fritters with bacon(yum with a capital Y) and my friend had this dish called the "clean magic" which had.......*heavy breathing*.......chicken with sundried tomatoes, spinach and poached eggs.....the food looked as if it came straight out of the magazines and the taste of the food...........the food definitely wasn't just for show, its the real deal, If I wasn't munching uncontrollably on my sweet fritters and the juicy bacon I would've gobbled up my friends food as well, if only he wasn't licking his plate and ordering seconds. The coffee they make is made with love, which is the secret recipe for making anything taste like heaven, the baristas tend to overdose on the love but I don't think that's something to complain about. Its not often you see a cafe where they serve fine dining quality food and you don't have to wear a tuxedo or have a massive entourage following you around to eat there. Calling the staff friendly would be an understatement, you could be covered in concrete from laying brick all day or be a sophisticated looking business person, they will make you feel welcome and at home, apart from the food and drinks they are the reason anyone would wish to frequent the cafe on a regular basis. To some up the crux of my review of this cafe its this, its worth it. Period.
