Unless you come here right after some rain, Drewery Lane might not be somewhere you would venture without a purpose, given the smells emanating from the lane, but trust me - it is definitely worth braving a walk down the lane for this little gem. The cafe oozes coolness and though it was busy inside, the crowd was laid back, giving the perfect atmosphere for my afternoon coffee. I opted for a short black, which was served in a large cup (unusual order maybe?), but no matter - it was the perfect temperature, which sustained while I drank it, as did the really good crema, giving a nice smooth finish to the coffee. I’ll definitely be back - especially on wet days!
Its the kind of place when you find it you feel like you have stumbled upon a secret. A hidden gem amongst a mountain of bland chain and food court coffee. Service was quick but the mix of popularity and cramped space made the wait a bit uncomfortable. All in it was a experience that yielded a well made coffee. Not a huge fan of the beans they use but that comes under personal taste would defintly return with some coffee loving friends.
