Drinks has gone right downhill lately. Black coffee sludgy at the bottom, chai weak and warm. Used to be good but no longer. The staff mirror the coffee too; just a bit too much on the miserable side for me. It’s certainly not a welcoming, happy place! Will try somewhere else next time as there plenty of competition.
Worst service ever! The owner /manager needs retraining on respecting his customers as his 'kick you while you are down, hipster self serving principles' are extremely misdirected and service was appalling. Staff Surprised me by informing me of an exact time (9.27) to retrieve a paid for order I had explained that I couldn't wait in store for as I had to start a video in a training session that for reasons beyond my control I was borderline late for. On returning at advised time I was informed that as I never physically waited in the store they didn't make my coffee in order to serve those who waited, despite paying for a large order and explained my situation, these stuck up douchebags decide a kick you while you are already down approach to service is best. And to top it off the coffee was disgusting. I threw mine away and got a much smoother and better one at Richmond Hill Cafe and Larder across the street
My expectations were high for this cafe. It's certainly popular and as it's a small space it was difficult to get a seat. Service was excellent. The place has nice cozy ambience and warm. The food was very nice an they actually split breakfast on 2 plates for us as we were sharing. My cappuccino and the Latte were a little disappointing - based on such high expectations. I'd asked for extra froth and chocolate on my cappuccino but there was more froth on the Latte my friend ordered. There was no chocolate on top ... they said it's blended in with the coffee. The coffee was only just warm enough too. However - I'd go back and give it another try :)
