This is a lovely little cafe, nice comforting atmosphere especially with the coffee roasters on the background. Was very surprised to have a choice of 4 different beans, 3 single origin and a blend. The guys behind the counter were polite but short. The Costa Rican blend was very nice. Milk was good and silky and a good temp. Would come back

I've been here on and off over the years - the bagels are great and the atmosphere inside is too. The coffee: the take home beans can be very good. The coffee made here is hit and miss : best made by the owner and longer serving staff who are passionate about coffee

Although there's something not quite perfect about this place, I find myself coming back. Whether it's the stupidly cheap meals ($12 for salmon benedict and a coffee) or the relaxed atmosphere, I'm not sure. Whatever it is, it's enough to get me past the bright blue exterior and into the pleasant inside. Although the coffee here is good, I've come to expect more from a cafe that roasts its own beans. The extraction and milk could be better tweaked. My single origin espresso was too hot and lacked flavour until it cooled. The service here is always a little strange: the staff at the till also make up the filled bagels, which means you can be left stranded for a few minutes waiting to order. Whether you're in search of a taste of New York, want a cheap and tasty lunch or just want to marvel at the novelty of a licensed bagelery, this place, despite its short-comings, is worth checking out.
