What a real eye(taste bud?) opener! Just went there with my partner without much preparation and information of the shop except for its relation with Proud Mary, we were welcomed by professional and friendly staff with a full of knowledge about coffee and how they showcased their black coffee in three different serving methods(Espresso, V60, and Cold drip). They offered three different beans from Columbia (Washed,Honey, and Natural). We tried Flight which came with all three beans in the choices of espresso and cold drip. The presentation of the coffee were superb with circular ice cubes for the cold drip. The tastes of the coffee were all magnificent and we thoroughly enjoyed different tastes and flavours they offered and our top pick of the day was the Wushi Wushi Natural that have already been received praise internationally. The ambience of the shop is very relaxing and cosy with some nice music in the background. We sincerely enjoyed the experience and highly recommend all coffee lovers to try their coffee including the ones who usually don’t drink black coffee.
Such an incredible coffee experience, I loved our visit here. Every element is considered and world class. I am so looking forward to going back. With specialising in black coffee though, I’d really like to see a double ristretto option for those of us that like a more concentrated taste. That said, I was so blown away by every other element of the experience that I was left very open to trying other ways of drinking the coffee. Staff went above and beyond. Inspiring!
Really cool place here, learnt a lot about coffee during my visit. They only do black coffee which may be a problem for some, but I really enjoyed my experience here. I had the Nemba (red bourbon from Burundi) and was really impressed. The barista made it both hot and cold for me to try. Friendly service with knowledgeable staff, cool accessories such as fragrance jars, photos and brand in different stages of roasting to add to the experience. Recommend to serious coffee drinkers!
Straight from the airport, started on the Rwandan washed - clean and floral with something like ANZAC biscuits underlying. Unusually, despite almost no acidity upfront, some acidity came through on the aftertaste - just great. Next a V60 on Rwandan honey processed - nice buttery mouthfeel and sweet citrus acidity. Descriptor said marmalade and oolong tea, and both were clearly there - don’t know if that’s just the power of suggestion but who cares when the drinking is so good They just nail it here.
