1 espresso single origin Peru. Very muted aromas but sweet taste overall. Drawn quite long. Dissipating crema a little quickly. Served with sparkling (a good touch). 2 cappuccino. Presented ok. With 3 tier tulip and a live heart. Milk a little bubbly (compared to Aussie standards). Taste was interesting. A little tinny at the beginning but flavour developed and finished ok. Had some of the pastries as well. Fitout was nice. Really like the barista bays with everything at arms reach.
I suspect that now that Blue Bottle have opened just down the street this mob will suffer. There's absolutely no consistency to the quality of coffee at Intelligensia. I drink either Latte or Cappuccino and it is constantly too bitter, although in fairness I have occasionally been served a reasonable one. They have no clue how to stretch the milk and I find the staff quite unfriendly. It is often difficult to find a seat with computers everywhere and free wi-fi seemingly the main attraction without too much coffee next to the MacBooks.
Had a very excellent Kenyan here. But really had a hard time ordering it, menu was somewhere and staff were not so open to discussion. Too many people with dogs in this city, sign says no, but dogs still pee all over. Sloppy presentation instantly follows by delicious coffee. Unexpected.
