Disagree with the sign at the entrance about best coffee in England. Service was quick, place had character but coffee looked like they lost interest during the pour of the second cortado. It looked like something poured in a cafe and both were too hot. Finally, the coffee tasted like the coffee and the milk were separated and was not smooth.
Seeing the London sights beanhunter took us to this cafe. It was great. Excellent service from friendly staff... Australian behind the counter so we felt right at home!! Coffee was good quality with excellent flavour. The cafe has lots of cool things go going on, and lots of things to look at as you enjoy your coffee. My favourite was the four corners passport where if you take a photo of yourself with the passport while on holidays and send it to them, you get a free coffee on your return. There was a tv showing all the photos which was fun to look at.
I wanted to love the coffee so much because everything else is a dream. I didn't even finish it, overly bitter, grainy- sad face! The atmosphere is so cool, I looked through one of the many travel books and ate the most wonderful Guinness cake! I wanted to give it another go in case I just got a bad one. Unfortunately I had to dash off, so I think we'll head back for another try, and fingers crossed.
