Made my usual visit to Peter when I am travelling to London, the flat white was as awesome as ever but I was devastated to learn that next week is his last week there before he packs his bags and moves to Cambridge. Watch out for Peter on a stall in the marketplace, London's loss is definitely Cambridge's gain. All the best Peter and thanks for the awesome coffee's over the years
We ordered cappucino and flat white was bitter, and too hot, so the sweetness was gone. We came 1hour before closing, the filter was not available, because of "BROKEN GRINDER???", and he can't serve with ceramic cup, because he would closed the coffee in 1hour ??? It was good coffee for some office workers around there, but cannot be #1 in LONDON!!
I think my expectations may have been sky high, from all the glowing reviews on here, but the coffee was very good and the barista is a dream. So friendly, unpretentious, and although it's just a cart there's a nice seating area on the church steps. Also chatted to one of the regulars which was nice, it felt like a community, not a faceless London coffee stop. I had a piccolo, would like to go back and try a flat white sometime.
This little coffee cart does amazing coffee, served by a wonderfully entertaining gentleman. The location on the steps of the church is highly unusual and makes a very pleasant alfresco experience. If the weather is good you can sit in one of the two tables nearby or in the courtyard behind the church. The only slight downside might be a colder wait in the winter - but the coffee more than compensates.
