It was like I was back in New Plymouth, NZ. Coffee that is so good you can’t help but smile. Only popped in for a takeaway but service and atmosphere was great

The batch is always phenomenal! Coming in hot from Ethiopia, Kenya, Columbia, Burundi or Brazil, you’ll always get a satisfying filter. Not the fastest service, but you can tell they’re working quickly to cater for quite a large number of coffee cravers who, at certain times, will queue out the door for it! It’s popular, and for good reason.

Very atmospheric, industrial vibe, dark, loud, buzzy, big. That’s the coffee. Atmosphere is like that too. They won’t give you a ristretto but what they call espresso does the job.

queues out the door show that this is one of the best cafés in Old St. A change in roasters has really improved the depth of flavour that you get out of the shots. Food is fantastic and the length of service of many of the staff, including the maitre d' (where the d is for divine) Robyn, reflect the fact that this is as good a place to work as it is to drink. They should Work on the loyalty scheme though, as you only get a freebie after buying 100s of drinks..

I had a V60 Colombian which was excellent... then came back for a second. Food was equally good. Poached eggs well cooked and bread fresh... sides lovely. Belinda had a soy latte and raved about it. Now for the downside... service was terrible... slow, not that friendly and rushing to take the plates before the last mouthful was swallowed... and that was at 10am before the queue built up. It's a shame that the staff were not friendlier... so many good places opening up these days, this is an area where the smart café can really make a difference.

Not bad. Service was pretty slow, but they were quite busy. Definitely more friendly than shoreditch grind. Coffee was good, albeit a bit bitter. Nothing to get mad about as the coffee was still good. Definitely will be back.
