I really like the look of this place, it's a lovely place to sit with the exposed brick wall, tempting cakes, pancakes piled high. Sadly, the coffee lets this place down and it is expensive for what it is. I still visit from time to time when meeting friends but I stick to tea here so I am not disappointed :o(
This cafe is suffering from a serious case of only-cafe-in-the-street-itis. One tip: if you do want a coffee from this place, order it takeaway and then sit in, because you will wait a very long time otherwise. The coffee itself was very milky and tasteless and the food wasn't all that much better.
Having stayed only 100 metres away, I got to frequent Counter and Table several times. Each time the coffee (Coffeeplant beans) was consistently served up from their Gaggia. My macchiato's were never bitter, but lacked a little flavour (sometimes due to slightly too much foam). All-in-all, a great little cafe with good coffee, great food, a range of organic treats to choose from.
