First let me say that the pour over coffee we had was excellent and at almost $AU15 a glass, one would hope so. There was a distinct lack of information provided about the coffee when asked and the overall ambience of the venue was wanting. My wife also had some a bacon and egg roll which she tells me was delicious.
After trying heaps of different coffees in Hong Kong, this cafe is a stand out. The piccolo is the strongest I have come across, most are too weak as they use a latte size glass (by Australian standards). This piccolo here, even in the larger glass, is of exceptional strength and taste. I also tried an Ethiopian single origin in a V60 pour over which was sensational. Better than many I've tried in Australia.
Quite possibly the coolest coffee shop in HK. Completely retro space hidden from the Main Street view. I accidentally stumbled across it by pure chance; I turned left downstairs rather than walking straight on. The service was very slow (there was a bit of confusion so I'm allowing for that). Apart from the coffee was very good and worth the wait. The venue is very cool with a great little corner booth for four people to squeeze into and the decor is simple but funky and effective. What's more is you can enjoy food and beer here - this place has it all. HK needs more cool venues like this or I simply need to discover the ones that exist... Give it a visit, you'll be glad that you did.
