I just can't get enough of The Lott. It has been my local for many years. Coffee and food is always amazing and done in a timely manner. If your passing by or love on the GC if you haven't dropped in then your missing out. The wonderful staff are always friendly and helpful.
Sometimes all it takes is one kind gesture to turn a good cafe experience into a great cafe experience. I stopped by the Lott to read a book while sipping on their delicious Campos coffee. I ordered, redeemed my free mug of Flat White on Rewardle points, and took a seat. Passing the time by testing out the Slo-Mo function of my iPhone 6s on raindrops bouncing off the outdoor deck railing. The girl who came out to drop the clear weather tarp around the deck definitely thought I was a weirdo. I digress; the Barista, Kyton (sp?) came out with my mug. I asked him what it was and he said cappuccino. I told him I ordered a flat white. He apologised, and started to take it back. I could tell he takes pride in being s barista because he gave me a look after I refused to let him make me another, like "Come on man, my reputation is at stake here". Like this write up, I stayed reading at the cafe for quite awhile, decided to get another coffee. I ordered a flat white at the counter, and Kyton called over and said don't charge him. I said "Are you sure?", since I thought the cappuccino was delicious. He nodded his head as if to say "let me redeem myself" (Yes, I'm being over dramatic. Like I said I'm an avid reader. And sometimes like to pretend I'm a writer). It turns out, although the the Capp was delicious, the flat white is extraordinary. Great Barista-ing Kyton. And if I totally screwed up your name, I apologise. I'm Canadian, we feel an apology should fix anything. Check out the Lott folks. I already knew they had good coffee and breakfasts, but now I can confirm their service is exceptional. Fin.
