It has now taken over 30 mins for a take away coffee. Even though there are only around 7 people waiting. They seem to be pumping out 1 coffee every 5 minutes and that’s not good service. To make that experience even worse they didn’t tell us the waiting time then gave us burnt coffee and what tasted like a nestle tin hot chocolate.
Pretty good really as I wasn't expecting much (a few years ago you had to drive out of the Salt precinct to get a good coffee). They use Bun and it was well prepared. The bacon and egg roll was good too - on a bun the was between bread and brioche.
Visited Saltbean last year and, noticing a lipstick mark on the rim of of my cup, I returned it to the barista who inverted the coffee into a new cup.....zero points for presentation! Why I returned today I am not quite sure but today's coffee was undrinkable, probably the worst I've had in a decade. Staff training and machine maintenance etc would be worth looking into here.
Overall, I can only think this cafe is lucky for its location. Both the service and coffee left a lot to be desired. The only small glint of special I experienced was the lovely salted caramel cookie. Girl who served us needs to learn how to smile. Either that or never venture out from behind the coffee machine.
