Merlo coffee used. On a busy day, the sole staff member was fairly slow. Espresso was hotter than desirable initially but the flavour improved as it cooled slightly. There was a good crema but their was no distinctive flavour profile. The white chocolate brownie, while definitely white choc it was not a brownie at all. The texture was very dense and doughie yet difficult to pierce with the tines of the dessert fork. In addition to a lower standard of coffee and sweet things, it was not value and quite expensive to other venues. Feedback was given.
Awful service, attitude with a touch of arrogance, staff not briefed very well on "the customer is always right". They got my order of a small snack wrong. What I asked for when I pointed to it, turned out to be the very thing I did not want. When I dared to challenge the waiter that he got the order wrong, he did say that the sign needed to be changed around but what I ordered was what I was being served...... whatever, I just ate it and left. They have lost my business. I guess when staff's English language skills is not good, and they are afraid to admit it, there are bound to be misunderstandings.Cheerful service and professional hospitality does not abound in Broadbeach restaurant precinct I am sorry to say. Its as if they don't want you to intrude in their trendy café space. I observed too many staff manning the counter, with not much happening. . Except some staff eating out the front of the café, not a good look. Its one of these cafes where all the food on sale is pre prepared. I don't normally get drawn to these cafes. I will be giving this place a wide berth. I would rather go to Macdonalds. At least they know how to service people with a smile. Yep I should have trusted my gut instinct and kept walking.
