Thanks again Beanhunter, never would have spotted this little place tucked back into a small recessed courtyard off Main Street. It’s not a flash fit out, quite retro and fairly sparse but it makes a decent coffee and provides free wifi. What more do we need?
What about those Kiwis and their multitude of 'extreme adventure tourism' ideas? Even the coach trip to Milford Sound has its challenges. Picture this. Every coach stops at the midway point (Te Anau) for a break and the only bus park on a scale is located out back of a cafe/souvenir place and so the challenge is to get your coffee etc. by joining the longest queue you've seen in a while. But not for me....I'm across the street to the Olive Tree Cafe, three separate areas including a sunny rear courtyard. Coffee is through a 2-group La San Marco with Zee beans from Auckland....the tasting notes say 'earthy' with a sweet finish, and I don't know about the earthy but the sweet finish was there particularly as I climbed aboard the coach well ahead of many of my fellow travellers who were still caught in the queue.
