Not a café I would bother with ever again - once was enough. Under new management. No more Di Bella. As I heard they had Di Bella its the only reason I stopped in. Place is being run down and sloppy table cleaning and seems they can't wait to close early.
The Larder changed hands a couple of years ago, and struggled a bit at first with new ownership, service and staff, but I'm happy to report that the ladder is back to amazing coffee and great food. I come here to work sometimes during the day and it's perfect. Ivan even stays open until 3pm sometimes which is a nice change from the 2pm closes of other cafes.
Hang on there, Larderettes! I have issues following my last visit. I'm not a regular, but have been. I hold your mince on toast fondly in my memory and I pop by occasionally for a morning coffee with a colleague. My last couple of trips I've detected a change in the atmosphere - a little less friendly - called 'mate' a few too many times - coffee slipping into the ordinary realm. Last visit I ordered a flat white and my colleague a latte - apart from forgetting the order and it finally arriving cold as two flat whites, I reminded the waiter that we'd ordered a latte and a FW - not two FW's - but it was OK (I'm not going to argue about the difference between those two). The waiter took a FW away and was gone for a long time before our original waiter returned to argue that we had indeed ordered two FW's. We hadn't. She headed back to the counter - poured the FW into a latte glass and bought it back telling us that she had re-cupped it for us. Well, Beanhunters, if you like your coffees re-cupped and tepid, I highly recommend this place, but as soon as I can figure out how to get it off my favourites list, I will. I'm sure my most recent experience isn't typical, but the bar is set high in New Farm and the nearest competition is always within a stone's throw. I'm just making a stand here and now against re-cupping.
This is my and my husband's first option if we ever have a free morning for breakfast or brunch and we don't even live nearby. Their breakfasts are my fav - ingredients so fresh, large servings and great prices. Easy parking and very friendly staff too. If I lived in New Farm, I would be there too much!
Good New Farm cafe with great food and reliable coffee. While the bean is not my favourite they know how to put a latte together consistently. Not the best in Brisbane but certainly solid and worth visiting.... Service can sometimes make you feel as if you need to rush....
One of the best breakfast menus going around but the coffee leaves allot to be desired. The last few visits have been very ordinary. Basically an instant coffee with froth on top. Go for the food but forget it if you need a decent coffee. Great atmosphere but there are better spots near by with less lineup to get in.
