When at Mount Tamborine (Gold Coast hinterland) this is my absolute favourite cafe destination. The coffee is consistently good, the food fantastic, and the atmosphere brilliant. It is quite a large space, but because it is quite dim, it feels private and relaxing. You can choose to sit on leather couches, small tables, bar tables, bench seats, outside (pavement seating), or outside on the deck. There is also a large kitchen-style table for groups. Even better, behind the book-lined walls, there are small rooms with comfortable benches and a table (really private and very cool). They are open Friday and Saturday nights as well. The coffee is pretty good. They use Merlo (a roaster local to South-East Queensland from Brisbane) and very reasonable. For some reason, whenever I order a Macchiato it comes in a Latte glass (quite strange), but this doesn't distract from the flavour. The food is also superb and very reasonably priced. Mostly I love just lounging there, and cruising through a lazy afternoon drinking plenty of coffee (without being hassled or feeling pushed to leave).
