Second time here at least and queue is out the door on a Saturday morning so expectation high. Sadly continues with canberra theme of fw too cool milk temperature and also too weak. I’ve become accustomed to warm coffee but this goes too far. Shows promise but definitely below what I’d hoped for considering high score.
I was in Canberra for a few days and got a recommendation from a friend to go to The Cupping Room - I was not disappointed! After navigating a few roundabouts, I arrived to the cafe, which was full of patrons having breakfast. The place had a cool vibe in an otherwise unremarkable part of the city. Having found a table, I opted for a long black in the Black Betty blend, which is the darkest out of the three blends in the cafe. It was nice and strong and dark and really hit the spot. Next time I’m in Canberra I’ll definitely make the effort to go back and maybe try out some of the other blends if I have time.
Contrary to muppeteer's post a month ago, taste and body in my long black today was well above the norm, I would go as far as saying one of the best I've ever had. Not only is the coffee (and food (avo with hungarian dukkah - wowee!)) amazing it's the atmosphere and the people that make this place truly great. Firstly, the barista genius that is Connor T, his passion vigour and drive simply makes the place. And, secondly, the wait staff are always exceptional, particularly Katie, Sandy and to a lesser extent Ben. They are the best in the business. 10/10 - you guys rock. I will be back and ordering one Long Black!
