Contrary to muppeteer's post a month ago, taste and body in my long black today was well above the norm, I would go as far as saying one of the best I've ever had. Not only is the coffee (and food (avo with hungarian dukkah - wowee!)) amazing it's the atmosphere and the people that make this place truly great. Firstly, the barista genius that is Connor T, his passion vigour and drive simply makes the place. And, secondly, the wait staff are always exceptional, particularly Katie, Sandy and to a lesser extent Ben. They are the best in the business. 10/10 - you guys rock. I will be back and ordering one Long Black!
Standards here have massively dropped since my last visit a year ago. Maybe ONA is now too mainstream and they are struggling for consistency. Double shot flat white was really underwhelming and slopped out so latte out was blurred and coffee spilled onto the saucer. Taste and body was pretty average. I like my coffee pretty luke warm but this one was way too cold (and I know the temp that how ONA coffees should be served). Such a shame this has happened, but because of the name now they probably don’t need to try that hard.
Have been keen to check out this place and to sample the coffee which I’ve heard so much about. I certainly wasn’t disappointed. I tried two different blends, the founder and black Betty - both were excellent. The cafe has an excellent vibe, great menu and awesome and friendly service. I’ll definitely plan to go there again when I’m next in Canberra
I always visit The Cupping Room for breakfast/coffee when up from Melbourne. This time I ordered the filter which was exceptional. Avocado and eggs on toast is great too. So much avocado and seemingly fresh rather than the pre-made stuff straight out of the fridge which seems to be more common... anyway this is a coffee forum. Coffee was great!
