Stopped by for a life saving early morning (6:45am) coffee on the way to the snow... heard a lot of hype about it and the fitout looked trendy and the baristas looked hip. The quality of the coffee and milk were very good, but coffee not strong enough. I'm a barista myself, and drink a double shot latte - and unfortunately the one I got from here was weak, just a single shot :/ I'll give it a one more go though next time I'm passing though. In the up side - THE BEST CROISSANT IVE EVER HAD!
I found the coffee so bitter it was undrinkable. I ordered a flat white but it seemed like a variation of a cafe latte with a very "foamy" top. I don't think I will return. I was looking very forward to it also. The service was good and I liked the cafe albeit a bit different to others.
Had such a great experience at this chilled café. Upstairs has some vintage features, and makes you feel right at home. Downstairs is where the action happens coffee wise. They had an Indonesian and a blend in the hoppers, and I the blend worked well both black and white. Its old school coffee, minus the pretentiousness.
I was a bit worried after reading all those reviews, particularly about services. The gents behind the counter were friendly enough, and said to me and my partner that there were plenty of seats upstairs. The atmosphere was really nice. Very cool with vynals covering one wall. Unfortunately, coffee was roasted too dark and tasted bitter and sour. I had to leave maybe 2/3 of my coffee. Otherwise, this place should be a good place to catch up with friends or sit down and relax...
