Came back for lunch and good coffee on Saturday. The place still carries original West End vibe - mixed culture. Thai/Laos food was really enjoyable, coffee was really well made. I had not had Campos for a while and found it was still good. Sweetness with chocolate and nutty body. I had iced latte as it was hot on that day, and my partner ordered flat white and he was really happy. Maybe their roasting style is more traditional, but really good as milk-based coffee. Service was really pleasant. The table we chose was wobbly, and the young lady noticed it, then put a serviette underneath it. It does not happen often at many cafes. The place can be really crowded, so if you feel uncomfortable with sharing a table with other customers, maybe this is not a good option.
Very good coffee, and strangely enough probably the best Thai food in Brisbane. The seats are uncomfortable to sit in for longer periods though - they are decades old, and originally belonged to a youth group my dad attended in the 60s. The majority of the tables are also communal banquet tables, which may be a turn off. It's important to note that West End Coffee house closes at 4pm, when most good coffee places are shut by 2-230. So come here if you need a late fix.
