I had driven past this place a number of times and decided I needed to check it out. So minus children (yah) and favourite book in hand I ventured in for a well earned coffee. I loved the atmosphere, with its vintage furniture, clothing and bit and pieces around. Little nooks and crannies to enjoy a great cup of coffee. Toby's Estate coffee is served and it was very good. Strong and velvety. The menu looks good too. If you are in the area, put it on your to visit list.
Went with a friend for coffee and my friend ordered avocado toast, the waiter looked like he needed a dose of antidepressants….I swear he was so unhappy to be at work and in a profession where smiling and enthusiasm goes a long way! The coffee was terrible, service worse and the avocado toast was boring…dry looking and yes overpriced. Definitely not returning!
One of my favourite places to hang out. OK, the coffee is good but not outstanding, but a mug of coffee comes in a real mug, not an egg cup. The decor is classic vintage and it's like visiting Nana's house. There are even wheel barrows with fresh herbs growing outside. For all that it's a big space, the noise level is OK and you can have a conversation without shouting over the 1950s soundscape. The food is yum and service is friendly. You can catch up on emails on their free wifi, sitting on the retro lounge chairs in the corners. I like to sit and write in my journal over coffee, and they give you the time and space to do that.
Great change for a venue in Coorparoo that used to be a hardware store for a number of years. Inside it's a retro tour with their furnishings taking you back to the memories of nannas house. The coffee was their own blend which was a little mellow and floral. It works well with their menu which contains a lot of items you don't see at other cafes. Great place to take a trip down memory lane with a good coffee.
Been here a few times mainly for lunch and the food is fresh and tasty. Went again for breakfast on Saturday and the coffee was so much better than previous times. They've changed to Toby's Estate-easy to drink, body and no bitter aftertaste. Staff were great and it has a really relaxed feeling about the place. I really like the comic book signage and back wall.
Food is way over priced for somewhere that cant cook bacon. One staff member was more than rude, snarled at the thought of providing hospitality. She was way too cool for school covered in tattoos that would more sit a brothel. Atmosphere was so good and spacious, just really let down by the above mentioned factors. Wont be returning in a hurry, Brisbane doesn't need anymore Sydney wanna be places!
