As the previous reviewer said, Uncle Joe's coffee is not my favorite and personally, their beans require lots of skills to make a good coffee out of them. I visited because it was their last day, and my coffees, one black and one flat white, were made by skilled baristas, but still, as black, I found it a little lacking a body as advised by the barista at John Mills Himself. My flat white tasted better, but still, for me, it was a bit weak though I could taste more subtle flavours in my cup. Customer service was really good. Everybody was working hard, coffee was made promptly with care, very well-made. Considering skills and passion of this place, it is a huge miss for Coorparoo residents, but I would like to wish them huge thanks and keep visiting city cafes whenever I want to have mild but well-balanced coffee.
They weren't my favourite. But I see they have moved up the rankings so I try them again. The guys put up a sign saying how hot they make their coffee and that you can change it if you like. It's a simple thing but it makes all the difference. It's Uncle Joe's last day and seeing everyone come in for their last coffee is really nice. They are a part of this neighbourhood. Top job!
Found uncle Joe' little coffee factory while waiting fir my car to be fixed. I met the owner itself and had quiet a long impressive talk about the coffee world while tasting different kind of coffees. Loved every sip of it and could get enough of it, came back next day again :-) coffee was very well balanced ind flavor and strenght. Would not hesitate to say that it is one of the best coffees i've had so far!
Yet another great local roaster! These guys being in the current top ten was enough to make me want to give them a visit. I found the place slightly difficult to find as the signage is quite small, walking in the place has a unique feel, definitely not too hipster it was refreshing to see and old school coffee shop that is serving coffee to rival the best brisbane has to offer. I felt some aspects of the fitout looked a little cheesy or outdated however that added to the charm. I asked what was available and was told if I wanted single origin the kenyan peaberry was on so that was what I was served in a small latte. Having had this bean though a different roaster before I had high hopes of what might be coming and I was not let down. A great taste smooth with a good full body taste on well textured milk will get my repeat business, I will be back to try again when I have more time!
