This is not a cafe, mainly a restaurant, but serve Veneziano, so I decided to hop in though it looked a bit too pricey. I asked a nice young lady behind the counter if it was OK only to have coffee as I noticed they normally close at 2PM. The lady said it was totally fine, and asked me to have a seat. Another young and equally nice lady brought me a bottle of water, and took my order. The place was quiet, and decorated by many marine-related paintings and ornaments. Music was not overly noisy so clients can chat without shouting each other. My coffee was promptly delivered. Crosstown use Veneziano now. It tasted slightly thin, but well-made. It delivered strong body with a significant sweetness and slight acidity. The cup was quite enjoyable and served at the right temperature. The cup and saucer were very clean, and the place was also clean yet the decor gave an impression that you feel like you have wandered inside an old pub. Wait people were quietly chatting each other, and working very hard. I wish they offer some mid-range food options, but considering the level of service and atmosphere, they can mark up the price a little bit. I am looking forward to visiting Crosstown one morning or in a hot summer as the place is at the perfect temperature.
