When Spoon first launched many years ago it was leading the pack in rethinking the customer experience. Today if feels a bit average. Coffee (Di Bella) was fine as a regular cafe coffee. I stopped in for Brekkie - eggs benedict florentine with mushrooms. Under-seasoned but otherwise fine - but not a patch on a similar dish (& pricing) I had at Harvey's across the road a few weeks back. It's spacious with good vibe - good for a business meeting - but otherwise reminded me that there are plenty of other choices around this area.
The strength of this place lay in its balance of coffee, tea, food, deli.\nEach aspect is of a good to high quality.\n\nThe coffee is not pretentiously done, but matches the other high quality aspects...\n\nIf this joint threw in its own roasting, it would be taken to the next level, and be one of the best in brisbane.\n\nAs it goes, it is an experience destination venue, located well, to easily enjoy a foodie few hours within james street markets precint.
