Delicious coffee roasted in house with a nice after taste. Service was excellent although surprised how long the coffee took to be prepared given the small numbers being served at the time. We revisited after dining elsewhere and the serving speed was far better and the coffee again was excellent.
Great location and overall cafe design. Decor is bright, cheery and mid century modern. I really appreciate that they have made a commitment to selling good quality home gear as well. My wife ordered a flat white, which was excellent. Perfect milk, and the Brazilian Cup Of Excellence espresso paired well with it. Excellent varietal flavors and sweetness on the back end of the taste I had. I ordered a V60. The person at the POS wasn't prepared to tell me what beans they were using, or if I could choose my beans. Turns out it was some kind of Australian bean. The barista who dropped it off at my table gave me a brief description of it, and was informative and friendly. The brew temp may have been on the hot side, but I'm not sure. Finally, we visited on a weekday when it wasn't too busy. I was a little surprised to seen that the cafe was quite dirty. Food crumbs everywhere and dust on a lot of surfaces. Pay some overtime, and have the crew deep clean the place from time to time. To me, it says that Merlo has not been able to handle its growth well, and details are being missed.
