Good place, good coffee with good sizes. Extra shot asked for and a smooth but strong taste with a kick. Good baby cino too.. Cool place good vibe limited seating

annerley residents suffer a heavy shortage of good coffee shops. groove cafe offers blackstar. that is a good sign that the owners care about coffee. the atmosphere was good and relaxing though hard benches are not ideal for chatting for a long time but comfy enough for enjoying a nice cup. i didn't have a time to try their food but all sounded delish. service was good. they didn't hurry me up. coffer was strong and rich, very much blackstar. the downsides of groove are strong smell from kitchen and noise from ipswoch road. i wish this cafe were located somewhere more quiet and fit with a better ventilation!

I visited Groove Café for the first time last weekend. Having enjoyed several outstanding coffees at their sister café Bang Coffee Bar in Coorparoo, I’ve been wanting to visit Groove for a while now and finally got around to it. I like this little section of Ipswich Road, just near Dudley St. The atmosphere is super relaxed, and this is reflected in the fit out of the café. A lot of credit also needs to go to the very welcoming hostess Carolina who co-owns both cafes with her partner. I visited around lunchtime on a Saturday and the place was close to full, but not in a crowded way. There was some great music playing, as always; and I settled in with a newspaper and ordered something from the brunch menu. The service was spot on, and I had a really good chat with both Carolina and the barista. Just like Bang, they serve the Blackstar Revolution blend here. The only real difference between the two cafes is they use different espresso machines, and they use those fatter latte glasses at Groove (I find them quite bulky). My triple ristretto latte was good, but not quite at its peak. I couldn’t fault the preparation, instead I think it was more that it had only been a few days since the roast and the flavours weren't as “explosive” as I know they can be. Still it was a very enjoyable coffee, and the milk was spot on. This is a great little café with very friendly and personal service.

Good coffee, friendly service, tasty menu, relaxed atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you're in the area. Very rustic fitout - might not suit everyone - but we really liked it.

This has to be one of the coolest cafe's to be found anywhere in Brisbane, and part of the reason is that they are so un-assuming!

This cafe is awesome! The menu is great, Saturday mornings you are lucky to get a table cuz the place is pumping. The vibe is really cool, laid back, not pretentious. I found this place after they got a terrific review in the courier mail and it totally lived up to the hype. They use Belaroma coffee, always made perfectly. Highly recommended.
