I really enjoy Genies as a restaurant, but wouldn't recommend it as being the best coffee on campus. The dine-in coffee is usually better than the takeaway coffee. Meal prices are reasonable and the food is usually pretty good. The staff are helpful and prompt. The cafe has a nice atmosphere, despite the noisiness of the location.
The quality of the coffee here - especially in the morning is really excellent. These guys really have the coffee quality sorted and the staff of baristas are extremely proficient at turning out consistently excellent coffee. You can certainly get a good breakfast and an often interesting and quick lunch in a relaxed - mainly outdoor - setting. The cafe is set in the ground floor of the Queensland Bioscience Precinct/Institute for Molecular Bioscience but it's open to everyone. Even when it's hopping, it's not too noisy - the outdoor tables in particular are set at reasonable distances apart and the staff are (on the whole) extremely attentive.
