Started off with a Doppio - excellently pulled, very bright and fruity, temperature was perfect. Followed the doppio with a cortado, not often you see that on a coffee shop’s menu. The cortado was perfect. Went very well with the excellent breakfast crumpet. Next time I’m in Brisbane I’ll do an Arnie.

Was hunting for somewhere to sit in the sun- Empire delivered. As other reviews have said- in a bit of an industrial estate, so not the nicest views, but sweet tunes, friendly service and the coffee is top notch.

Very cool little place. The Wolff blend they're serving is great in a flat white, and the baristas have been pretty consistent. The ambience is great, and they have a variety of sweet snack options (I haven't tried these yet though).

This small hole-in-the wall cafe is located in the industrial area in Moorooka. Not many people would expect a specialty cafe in such an area in Brisbane. I mostly have flat white at Empire because I often find Wolff Roaster's Big Dog blend tastes better with milk. I first thought it was slightly bitter, but the texture and temperature were right, so tried a few more. Their coffee has got better over a month or so. They occasionally have filter coffee. I had Kenya which tasted very complex with good acidity and brandy sweetness. It was really delicious. They also offer bottled cold brew from time to time. Service is good. Baristas are friendly and polite. They offer proper courtesy to customers. Their music selection is also quite good and people can expect that as it is part of recording studio. Unfortunately there are not outside tables and the space is fairly small. If you prefer a proper cafe setting and offerings, this is not ideal as they don't serve food other than sweet treats. If you, however, love some industrial feel and something different, you will like this place. I am happy to have a specialty coffee place near my place anyway and look forward to going back.
