Meh, so underwhelming. They don't do milkshakes so my boy was disappointed before we even began. The largest coffee was what I would call a medium at best. Service was poor. The place seems like a Gloria jeans style but with more pretentions of grandeur. Again only counter service which I don't like in places like this.
I visited this place on the way to catch up with friends for breakfast. I had heard of this place a lot from coffee loving friends while I read a mix of good reviews and bad reviews on beanhunter, so I was kind of nervous. The place was very interesting - lots of retro decorations such as old guitars, records, paintings as well as coffee gears and roaster. I was curious but nobody seemed to notice while I was looking around. When I tried to order coffee, I was a little disappointed to learn they only offered blend as espresso, and no other brewing methods. I felt odd as they are a roaster, and no other beans - but maybe they assumed I don't know much about coffee and not worth serving as I am not a regular customer nor ordering food. All customers seemed to frequent this cafe/roaster, and possibly not many new clients try them as they are more like a hidden suburban gem. My coffee was promptly delivered - unfortuntely, a bit too hot to my liking and for me, it tasted lacking the depth. More like a bit on the bitter side. I guess their coffee better suits milk-based coffee. I should have ordered espresso as the second, but I had to have more coffee afterward. Service was OK - not so friendly, but possibly if you visit this cafe a few times, they might warm up a bit. I would revisit them if I am in the area again, but I am not in a hurry.
