Didn't get a chance to experience service as I ducked in and out, but it did seem like a cute place I'd like to make a regular in my routine! Then I opened one of the two the cold brews I purchased (I'm on the hunt for the best cold coffees Brisbane has to offer) I take a sip and what a surprise, it's loaded with added sugar. I never ever have sweetener in my coffee, good quality brews don't require it and I avoid sugar/diabetes when I can. I don't care if it's 'luxury' and 'natural' as the BACK of the bottle says, I feel like I should get a choice. Definitely won't be back as today's purchases are going down the drain. Would highly recommend for people who love sweet (read: bitter covered up with sugar 馃檮) coffee obviously.

Really good coffee. They have brown sugar which we don't normally have for coffee as we think brown sugar is too sweet for coffee but it goes well with their one. We had 2 cups each since it was small size and I tasted with sugar and without sugar. Do they normally serve you a small if you don't order a large? Wonder if they have large size...

Blackstar is about the amazing coffee and the great West End vibe. The occasional table of bread crumbs bothers me not!

Blackstar Coffee staff have gone snooty !! Once again I have to comment on this place to warn customers not to expect anything remotely over the top that's called service. Not only are they too trendy to wipe tables but too snooty to get a clean spoon to assist a customer. Even though I refuse point blank to darken its doors, my coffee tester mate bought ground coffee and ordered a takeaway. The bloke that took the order was nice enough. The coffees took at least 20 mins to do and there was only 2 or 3 people ahead of her. They had no clean spoons so she could add sugar, and the barista was surly and it seemed like an imposition on him to ask for the spoon for the sugar. She asked for an extra cup and that seemed like a big deal too. The atmosphere is like its too trendy to give a dam about genuine customer service.

The coffee here was okay, a little bit dark for my liking but drinkable. Cup was a little grubby and tables need a wipe. Has a super laidback feel to it and is demonstrated by the staff. The place to go when everything else is shut.

Yes, blackstar is a bit grunge. The revolution is the best coffee I've ever had. I travel the world, there s no coffee that compares to blackstar. 鈾
