I used to go to this cafe as the coffee seemed ok but I quickly learned that the staff always use full cream milk even when you specifically ask for skim milk. In fact the cafe only stocks full cream milk. A bit disappointing that the staff don't even have the respect to be honest with their clients. I won't be back again.

I love Betty's espresso! I get my coffee here daily. The service is real, the coffee is consistently good, the music is inspiring. In a world of boring coffee clubs and pretentious cafés, Betty's is a breath of fresh air!!! This is pretty much a one man band cafe, so sometimes when it's not open I do get a bit sad because there is no where else in west end I want to get my coffee.

i found this cafe thru a daily search for new cafes. based on their own site and online mag's article, the cafe looked worth visiting: a cafe converted from a qlder and a studio that doesn't sell alcohol. i think i visited this for some gigs and enjoyed the homey atmosphere. the atmosphere was still the same. i felt like stepping inside some quirky music and movie lover's house when i entered. the food menu looked good and very cheap. many students around the area should drop in for cheap and quick food. there were tables and chairs on the veranda facing browning road. you can enjoy people watching without bring annoyed by noise too much. couches inside also looked enticing. i asked the friendly lady (i guess she is the owner) what beans she used. she said the colombian reserve from sydney, which sounded very promising. i ordered my normal skinny flat white and asked the lady to serve it in a takeaway cup as it looked lovely. she said she would bring my coffee over so i took a table on the veranda though it was a bit hot. it should be great in nornal spring. coffee was quickly served but i wasn't sure if i had heard the sound beans were ground. i really loved the stamp of Betty's logo. but not coffee. i wouldn't say it was the worst but it lacked any flavours. i could taste milk and mild bitterness, no sweetness from coffee itself and no acidity or fruity taste that i enjoy a lot. the owner was friendly and the atmosphere was very intetesting, but unfortunately, im writing a review on a site for coffee connoisseurs. if you are after a relaxed cafe you can chill out with frineds, Betty's is definitely one of places you can go. however if you are after good coffee, it's better to walk down a few blocks.
