I saw in the local paper that these guys came runners up in Ballarat's Best Coffee comp... so last week I thought i'd go back & have another cup (along with some friends). It was just as nice as last time I visted. Still no latte art, but a great venue (although a bit small) & such a warm & welcoming atmostphere. All enjoyed their drinks... we also may have had a cheeky cake too ! Congrats on the acheivement - not bad considering you are a fairly new establishment.
Fantastic coffee, up there with the best in Ballarat, if not the best. Great atmosphere and friendly service with tasty food, especially the toasted foccaccias! Great place to laze around on the couches especially with the gas log fire keeping you warm in winter along with the coffee. Not sure about some of the other reviews, never had a bad coffee and the lack of latte art well its the coffee I drink, if I wanted art I would go to the Art Gallery. Keep up the great coffees!
The staff here would have to be the most cheerful cafe staff I have encountered ! I have only been in a couple of times but each time I have been greeted with enthusiasm. The atmosphere is great & it almost feels like you are sitting in your own loungeroom & there is never any pressure to leave once you've finished your coffee... & on the subject of coffee, it is just lovely. I have read the other reviews on this place & I can say that my experience has not been the same as theirs & i wonder if it was possible that it was a once off & as for the photo that was uploaded, although latte art is lovely to look at, for me personally, it isn't the be all & end all of my coffee. The owners have done a wonderful job of renovating the old bike shop & they are happy to talk to customers about their journey. Bike Rack Cafe is out of my way to get to but if I am on that side town & have time, I do try to get a coffee.
About time someone did the maths and combined a bike shop with a coffee shop. One complements the other. The good customer service and great coffee that I received was awesome. Not to mention that the wife loves their chai latte. Good going Bike Rack Cafe....I'll be back for sure.
What's the fuss about? Danes gourmet coffee, might as well of had a latte pack from Coles made at home, these guys have done a nice job to make cafe besides a bike shop, why not cyclist love coffee, but I feel sorry for them having to drink this everyday, I think the mistaken the dish water jug for my cup, just no flavor no coffee art no body to milk, sorry guys don't just let anyone make coffee, I probably won't be back anytime soon, Regards Not a very nice coffee drinker
This cafe is different due to the concept of a bike shop and cafe in one place. My overall experience was great due to its surroundings, informative and very good service from the cafe and bike shop (yes, I bought a bike). The cafe enables you to sit out the front enjoying the day go by, and warmth of the sun, or the privacy of the courtyard out of the elements - whilst still having that feeling of being outdoors. The warmth of the decor design, comfy couches in front of the fire (in winter) is very inviting . The food is simple but clever, such as the delightful toasted pizza focaccia. The coffee had a pleasant aroma and made to a perfect temperature, to start enjoying it whilst hot enough to not have to rush the experience. My cappuccino had creamy firm stretched milk (the consistency you can turn your spoon upside down and it stays put), was smooth whilst being full bodied ,and leaving that lingering taste on the back of your tongue, letting you know you enjoyed something special and to remember to come back to duplicate the experience. Thankyou for a great experience
